State & National Competitions
In 2022, FBA Chapters competed in a design-build challenge for the first time at the Southeast Builders Conference that was held at the Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee, Fl. Only two schools competed for the first competition and did an AMAZING job. Check out the photos below. We also had 3 Chapters Compete in a Special Design-Build Competition at the International Builders Show (IBS) in Orlando in Jan. 2022. Wanting to branch out even more, in 2023, two of our Chapters went to Las Vegas and competed for the FIRST time in the NAHB Student Chapter competition. Check out the results below!

Southeast Builders Conference
Orange County Convention Center - July 29-30, 2026
It's our 5th Year of the Annual Design Competition at the Southeast Builders Conference and we are signing up schools to compete and showcase their skills! Each team will build their project at their home schools and transport them to SEBC. Students will present their projects and win CASH prizes for the best entries. Sponsors and judges are needed. International Builders Show - Picnic Table Challenge
Orange County CC, Orlando - Feb. 18, 2026
All Future Builders of America Chapters are also official Student Chapters of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). In early 2021, FBA reached out to the NAHB Student Chapters to collaborate on a design build event that our students could participate in at the International Builders Show (IBS). The result was a Team Challenge and we are bringing it back for the LAST TIME! Each of the schools will build and finish picnic tables to be judged and assembled at IBS. Each time is given time to discuss their projects with the judges and then are timed on how fast they could assemble their tables. Come on out and support our schools at the Show Village at 10 AM on Wed, Feb. 18, 2026.

International Builders Show - Las Vegas, NV - Jan 2023
Another first for our FBA Chapters - 2 of our schools traveled to Las Vegas to compete with other schools on a National Level. Their challenge - design and plan a house to be built in California according to that region's building codes, pricing and materials. It was an AMAZING event and the competition was fierce! Southeast Builders Conference - Orlando, FL - Aug. 2022
For the first time ever, FBA Chapters were able to participate in a real Design-Build Challenge. Their quest? To build "Taj Mahal" Dog Houses. Each school was given the same set of plans and was encouraged to get create in their designs. This would not be possible without the support of our communities and sponsors!
